ANTIKLIMAX transmits Vincent BENESY's musical vision. This very skilful French keyboards player is marked forever by the German School of electronic musics (TANGERINE DREAM, Klaus SCHULZE...). Released on the Dreaming label in 2006, "Plus Loin Vers L'Est" is a political album, designed to exorcize the personal dreads of its author. This album alludes to the nuclear risk, through titles such as "Krypton 85" or "Lumières Dans La Baie De Mourmansk". "Plus Loin Vers L'Est" is the ideal original soundtrack for an imaginary film, inspired by real movies describing great human adventures: the title "Submersible" refers to "Das Boot" ("The Ship" by Wolfgang PETERSEN), whereas "Hallucinations" (With Klaus KINSKI's sampled voice) was inspired by "Aguirre ? God's Anger" from Werner HERZOG. In a more abstract way, this opus is an invitation to a voyage through Time and Space. Special care was taken in the use of drumboxes: these are often incorporated in the melodies and are arranged in layers corresponding to many tracks which are dedicated to these percussions. Harmonic frameworks were in turn composed on MIDI score. The second opus "Aurora Polaris" (2008) is a sonic journey through the Finnish landscapes. Vincent BENESY found the perfect partner in crime for such a project: the female singer Jaana PALONEN, coming from Tampere. The two met through Internet, and then decided to work with files they shared. Starting as an ambient-based concept, the music drifted towards a darker approach, retaining the aspect of purity in Finland's nature and wilderness, but also adding to the fact that nuclear danger now threatened this area (A new reactor being built for the nuclear power plant in Olkiluoto). That concept ended up being a "romantic take" on a motionless journey to join a person that you really want to meet... To be discovered !
