OLYAM, also known under the name Olivier BRIGAND, is always searching for new musical sensations. He's used to merge his synthesizers with human voices and acoustic instruments: guitar, bass, percussions... Sometimes close to Mike OLDFIELD or VANGELIS, the composer and musician thinks that traditional and ethnic music are very important, and has always been interested in rock, pop and classical music. His creativity and will to discover other worlds of sounds are somewhat responsible of the wide array of atmospheres and rhythms one can find in his compositions. His style, affiliated with the new-age pop movement, is often inspired by traditional musics. OLYAM then continues his composing work, in the manner of films, meditation and relaxation music. "Orpheus, The Initiate" is its second album, issued in 1997 on the Dreaming label. As for "Cristal Rêveur", it has been recorded five years later. Meditative but dynamic and lively, OLYAM's music is full of dreams to share and to live... Through sounds evoking various continents, "Orange Love" (2005) offers a journey that lasts more than 70 minutes. Like the previous one "Cristal Rêveur", this new opus of OLYAM provides again the fusion between electronic and acoustic sounds, with echoes sometimes close to Progressive rock. Both relaxing and revitalizing, this music is guided by various guitars and held by pure electronic tones, using significantly vocal samples or traditional instruments. Frontiers fade and leave room to an imaged and colored musical impressionism. To be discovered !
