ABEL GANZ is a Scottish Progressive rock band, created in 1980 in Glasgow. Unlike many other bands playing simple and thin melodies, yet classified in the same category, this group took a name that's freely borrowed from a famous cinema director of the Twenties: Abel GANCE was, for those who know, the author of "Napoleon And The Revolution", shot in 1926... ABEL GANZ play powerful and subtle neo Progressive rock, generally based on chiseled guitar solos, in the vein of Andy LATIMER (CAMEL) and evanescent keyboards layers in IQ's style. After recording the first album "Gratuitious Flash" (1984), the vocalist Alan REED left to join PALLAS. ABEL GANZ was back with "Gullibles Travels" in the following year. "Dangers Of Strangers" (1988) shows both a great richness in the way themes are arranged, and a constant melodic inspiration. To be discovered !
