Based on the opposition between men's rough vocals and women's lyrical lines, AFTER FOREVER is the new sensation of Dutch Gothic heavy-metal, a style already quite represented by groups such as THE GATHERING and WITHIN TEMPTATION. Floor JANSEN's voice proves to be quite varied, and easily goes from opera style to ambient heavy-metal. She is quite worth of the comparison with her fellow-citizens Sharon Den ADEL and Anneke Van GIERSBERGEN, or even with Finnish singer Tarja TURUNEN (NIGHTWISH). "Prison Of Desire" (2000) is no doubt about it an excellent album !
