The most famous French Progressive rock band of the Seventies reformed at the end of the Nineties around its historical leader Christian DECAMPS, this time helped by young musicians. "La Voiture A Eau" was then recorded in 1999, followed two years later by the excellent "Culinaire Lingus". Apart from the tremendous start of "Jusqu'Où Iront-Ils ?" and the rocker "Gargantua", the listener will surely be hooked by the guitar performances of Tommy EMMANUEL, Claude DEMET, Dan AR BRAS, Norbert KRIEF (TRUST), Serge CUENOT, Paul PERSONNE, Jean-Pascal BOFFO and Jan AKKERMAN (FOCUS) on the excellent bonus-track "Autour D'Un Cadavre Exquis". Those prestigious artists were invited to contribute a part on this long instrumental track, composed in the same way as the poets used to do in the XIXth Century. The principle of an "exquisite corpse" is quite simple: every author involved has to give a word, without knowing the choice of his colleagues. Then you'll get sentences both surreal and beautiful. Here's a great musical tribute to a timeless form of art... The first two albums of the new ANGE are reissued today by the Musea label, together with a double-live album poetically named "Rêves-Parties". This must be the best way to tackle the transition period between Christian DECAMPS & FILS and ANGE. This live album unveils a concert performed on december 7th 1997 in Massy (Paris area), in order to promote the then very recent "Troisième Etoile A Gauche". Ten months later, the band was back together with the same enthusiasm in the city of Tours, and recorded the second part of this double-CD. And two years later, after the chrysalis completed its transformation, the butterfly took its flight on the Olympia stage in Paris. A third part as a blaze of glory ! If there was only one date to remember in ANGE's recent history, it would definitely be October 13rd 2002. In that beautiful autumn night, Christian DECAMPS and his merry men came to one of the most prestigious French concert halls: the Paris Zenith. This unusual gig was supposed to celebrate thirty years of discography, initiated with "Caricatures" in 1972. And the success was absolute ! "Zénith An Deux" is a testimony of a unique event, that made the original members of different eras (Daniel HAAS, Guénolé BIGER, Claude DEMET, Serge CUENOT...) play with the youngsters (Tristan DECAMPS, Thierry SIDHOUM, Hervé ROUYER, Hassan HAJDI & Caroline CROZAT), as well as prestigious guests such as Francis LALANNE, Norbert KRIEF (TRUST) or the percussionnist of famous French band TRYO. Through two CDs, twenty-two songs and about two and a half hours of show, the musicians revisit a major portion of their repertoire at the speed of a flock of furious angels... For more than one decade, since the excellent "La Voiture A Eau" (1999), Christian DECAMPS and his bandmates alternate between studio releases and successful tours. "Le Bois Travaille, Même Le Dimanche" (2010) marks the fortieth anniversary of the group. The twelve songs featured here evolve slightly from the mood of the previous album, "Souffleurs De Vers". The compositions seem to lay more stress upon the lyrics and introspective atmospheres, not to say darker, than usual. But, whatever happens, ANGE will always be ANGE ! Did someone here say "must-have" ?
