HAL & THE BIG 5 is a joint venture between HAL's DJ alchemists and four South African singers from Soweto, Johannesburg. With Bill LASWELL at the controls to mix the music and apply the finishing touches, "Umoya" is the first album by HAL & THE BIG 5 presenting a collection of thirteen original world-pop songs with waves of acoustic guitars, live percussion, rhythm loops and saxophones which combine to produce a vibrant and exhilarating live sound.
