LINDISFARNE was part of the folk-rock movement. Their strength and simplicity were the perfect complement to the more complicated music of some other bands from the early Seventies. The style played by Alan HULL, Ray JACKSON, Charlie HARCOURT and Ray LAIDLAW on one hand and by Peter GABRIEL's GENESIS on the other, soon became different, even though there are still some good rock albums like "Back And Fourth" (1978) and "Amigos" (1989).
