There are names that say it all ! THE FUSION PROJECT has been created by French keyboards player Stéphane DERIAU-REINE (LIGHT OF THE WORLD, Ricky LAWSON...), with the help of famous drummer Mel GAYNOR (Tina TURNER, SIMPLE MINDS, Elton JOHN, Gary MOORE...) and bass player Jan-Olof STRANDBERG (Often regarded by the specialised press as Finland's premier bass player). Published by the Musea Parallèle label in the year 2006, the first album "Code Name: Fusion Project" gathers fourteen pieces (Mainly instrumental) mixing jazz-rock fusion and Progressive rock music with an incredible know-how and musical craftmanship. Sophisticated and melodious, this is a very diverse music, from melancholic ballads with harmonica to frantic semi-improvised musical rides, including funky or heavy sequences... These guys can play everything, but they never forget what a melody is ! Several guests, guitarist Jean FONTANILLE among others, came to play on what has to be considered as the jazz-fusion album of the year. Just fantastic !
