The German band WIZZARD is made of singer Teemu KAUTONEN, guitarist-bassist Daniel "FRONT" REISS, drummer CY and second guitarist John BLOECHIGER. Fans of heavy-metal with a touch of symphonic style, those musicians added a touch of black-metal to it and created an iconoclast approach whose results are nevertheless worth it. the well named "Black Heavy Metal" (Record Heaven, 2001) combines then the typical vocals of death with the airy guitars of a DREAM THEATER. The rhythm section doesn' t always play the most expected sequences, and know how to vary with subtlety its way of playing at the right moment. The welcome help of the synthetic layers (guest keyboardist) remains discreet and is used most of the time to create the atmospheres at the beginning of a track, before the expected metal explosion !
