This Norwegian keyboard player accompanied by a guitarist explores quiet and magic shores. Far from being a sedative, his music sometimes evokes symphonic Progressive rock. "Witchwood" dates back from 1996. On "The Void" (1997), LYNNE performs an electronic paroxysmical music with repetitive rhythms and dark ambiences, with sudden changes in the tempos (which sometimes sound dance) and energetic guitar solos. It evokes CHANGING IMAGES, with the more modern aspect of the ORIGO productions. "Colony" (2002) is a concept album about human colonization of alien planets, this is an all-instrumental Progressive rock and electronic crossover album with a lot of exciting twists and turns, a highly melodic core, a deep pulse and occasional neo-classical passages. Comparisons can be made both on the Progressive rock (PINK FLOYD, RUSH,YES...) and electronic (Andy PICKFORD, Mark SHREEVE, Ian BODDY, Mike OLDFIELD...) fronts, but it still sounds unique and refreshing. "Return To Witchwood" was made entirely for the love of creation itself and without any regard to commercial pressures or sales projections. This comes across in the music, an understated and playful album of melodic fantasy music. The only thing that matters here is the atmospheres, emotions, melodies and moods conveyed by this musical journey to a far-away fantasy world. A world where beauty, wonders, dangers and adventure greet a curious traveller. This is essentially a CD of melodic instrumental music, made with the sole purpose of touching the soul and the spirit of the listener. Whether as background music, or for a full-on listening experience with eyes closed and laid back on the sofa, the composer hopes to show you a little light and darkness from another world.
