CRYPTIC VISION is the name of a current Progressive rock band, located in Florida. Its style has been compared to such groups as PINK FLOYD, SPOCK'S BEARD, RUSH, ECHOLYN and SAGA. Released in the year 2003, the debut album "Moments Of Clarity" appears to be both diverse and cohesive at the same time: the mark of the greatest ! The melody seems to be the guiding line here. It also includes sequences obviously reminding of the Chris SQUIRE and Billy SHERWOOD's YES of the late Nineties. Polyphonics included ! This little gem was primarily a collaboration between multi-instrumentalist Rick DUNCAN (Also a prolific songwriter and engineer) and vocalist Todd PLANT (MILLENIUM, EYEWITNESS...). They have been working together on various projects since the late Eighties. Amongst the numerous guest musicians, other contributors of note include former KANSAS violinist David RAGSDALE, former Ian HUNTER keyboardist Howard HELM, guitarist Ralph SANTOLLA (MILLENIUM, ICED EARTH...) and former NEUROTICA members Shawn BOWEN & Kelly SHAEFER. Even with a great cast, a good play is nothing without a great scenario: CRYPTIC VISION has both ! Without any doubt, this piece of work is one of the best symphonic Progressive rock releases of the year...
