The impression caused by SPOCK'S BEARD's first two albums has hardly started to attenuate and already, a second American band shows up, as impressive and interesting for any normal Progressive rock ears as the first mentioned. Issued at the end of 1998, IZZ's first album "Sliver Of The Sun" is simply huge... And this is then a good surprise to see that those five musicians could go even further for their second album called "I Move" (2002), that is the easiest and most successful synthesis of the inheritance left by GENESIS, YES and friends. All this is blended in an American style: perfect production, innate sense of melody, music both complex and catchy. Even KING CRIMSON seems to have had a great influence, even though unconsciously, on those musicians ! "My River Flows" continues the story three years later, easily climbing up the 2005 best releases' poll. And four more years were needed for the fourth studio offering by the Tom & John GALGANO brothers, to eventually see the light of day. And it was worth the wait ! "The Darkened Room" (2009) took the same elements, melting complex Progressive rock with straight-ahead pop-rock energy. Here's an epic suite as well, "Can't Feel The Earth", split in three parts thoughout the album. Needless to say this is an absolute must-have ! Our American friends nowadays go on produicing remarkable and thrilling music. "Crush Of Night" (2012) is no exception to the rule: the second part of a trilogy started with "The Darkened Room", this fifth studio album displays seven tracks made of Progressive rock of the highest caliber, three of them making the self-titled 26 minutes epic track. And here's the icing of the cake: Gary GREEN of GENTLE GIANT fame guests on two tracks here. Not to be missed by any means !
