You may remember NOETRA, which used to be a remarkable French Progressive rock outfit that never could release their compositions in their activity period. Thanks to the Musea label, three recordings of Jean LAPOUGE and Christian PABOEUF's band have been released now. In the Eighties, both musicians, respectively a guitarist and a oboist / flutist, prepared an instrumental album that was never released. But Musea eventually made up for this lack, through its branch Great Winds. Captured in Dordogne in 1987, "Atlas" includes an intimist and hushed atmosphere, developed through acoustic and electric guitar arpeggios, oboe, saxophone and a few judicious percussions. This may recall Pat METHENY or Jean-Pascal BOFFO, which sounds quite interesting. To be discovered !
