Robert BERRY (Canada)
A Soundtrack For The Wheel Of Time

Robert BERRY could be considered, in his own way, an unlucky artist: he recorded next to the greatest British musicians and took part to the biggest bands during the Eighties (With Steve HOWE within GTR, then Keith EMERSON & Carl PALMER in THREE), but still remains an unfairly underestimated musician. A gifted multi-instrumentalist and singer as well as a demanding and prolific producer, he started his career with Progressive rock. At the end of the Seventies, he formed HUSH, reformed for a great cover of GENESIS' "Watcher of the Skies" in 1995. He had issued a first solo album two years earlier (the excellent "Pilgrimage to a point"). Since then, Robert BERRY has been one of the pilars of the label Magna Carta, famous for the quality displayed in his productions. A kind of do-it-all man, he was at the origins of original projects such as THE DECEMBER PEOPLE, or even some of the famous tribute albums that made this label famous. As its name seems to indicate "A Soundtrack for the Wheel of Time" (2001) is the illustration of an imaginary film inspired by the success series of book written by Robert JORDAN. This magnifiscent fresco invites the listener to join the adventure and the proposed journey.
