Allan HOLDSWORTH is the famous jazzy guitarist who pleased so many followers of GONG, U.K. or SOFT MACHINE... This guitar technician knows how to develop a unique style that is often copied but never duplicated ! The list of his cooperative efforts is simply overwhelming ! He began his career by debuting with IGGINBOTTOM, a blues-pop jazzy combo who produced only one album in 1969. Allan HOLDSWORTH's first album "Igginbottom's Wrench" features him superbly on a six-string... And as the lead singer too ! Recorded in 1982, "I.O.U. Live" is the only album recorded in public under his own name. For the event, he enlisted the assistance of vocalist Paul WILLIAMS (His former colleague from TEMPEST), drummer Chad WACKERMAN (former accompanist for Frank ZAPPA) and bassist Jimmy JOHNSON.

Ce technicien de la guitare a su développer un jeu réellement unique, souvent copié mais jamais reproduit dans sa technique, son feeling et son émotion. La liste de ses coopérations est, de plus, tout simplement pléthorique ! Notre homme débute sa carrière au plus haut niveau avec IGGINBOTTOM, combo de blues-pop jazzy auteur d'un unique album en 1969. "Igginbottom's Wrench" a comme particularité de voir Allan HOLDSWORTH officier à la six-cordes... Et au chant ! Enregistré en 1982, "I.O.U. Live" est le seul album enregistré en public de la formation du même nom. Le guitariste retrouve pour l'occasion le chanteur Paul WILLIAMS, son compagnon au sein de TEMPEST, ainsi que le batteur Chad WACKERMAN (Ancien accompagnateur de Frank ZAPPA) et le bassiste Jimmy JOHNSON.
