HEADLINE (France) Escape Thru The Lands

After a first self-produced single that had been quite successful, HEADLINE is back with a true first album. "Escape" (1997) surprises the listener thanks to the instrumental virtuosity displayed by each of the musicians, including the quality showed by singer Sylvie GRARE. With this new album, keyboardist Phil WOINDRICH's band (Who also assists French guitar-hero Patrick RONDAT on his solo albums) is to classify next to SUPERIOR, HYDRA and VANDEN PLAS. On "Escape Thru The Lands" (1998), the band performs both acoustic versions of their first album's tracks and two covers of QUEENSRYCHE ("Silent Lucidity") and YES ("Changes"). The tracks themselves have also been rearranged in the process in order to give them an accoustic spirit. The use of a cello and other flutes add to their originality. Not to be missed !

Après un premier single auto-produit qui avait beaucoup fait parler de lui, HEADLINE revient avec un véritable premier album. "Escape" (1997) surprend l'auditeur par la maîtrise instrumentale de chacun des musiciens et la qualité de la voix de la chanteuse Sylvie GRARE. Avec ce nouvel opus, la formation du claviériste Phil WOINDRICH (Assistant également le guitar-hero français Patrick RONDAT sur ses albums en solo) est a classer aux côtés de groupes comme SUPERIOR, HYDRA ou VANDEN PLAS. Sur "Escape Thru The Lands" (1998), le groupe propose des versions acoustiques des morceaux de son premier album, accompagnées de deux reprises de QUEENSRYCHE ("Silent Lucidity") et YES ("Changes"). Les morceaux ont été réarrangés pour leur donner un esprit acoustique. Violoncelle et autres pipeaux accentuent l'originalité de la démarche. A ne surtout pas manquer !
