First trained as a percussionist, keyboards player Christian RICHET has become one of the greatest French specialists in Seventies-like electronic music. And if this personal development reminds that of Klaus SCHULZE, his works differ significantly from the canons of the German School (TANGERINE DREAM, ASH RA TEMPEL, POPOL VUH...). However, his works remain heavily influenced by his strong personality, and an unquestionable rock culture. As much through his sounds as his multi-influenced melodies, the five tracks of "Percutone" (1998) take the listener to a peaceful and percussive journey. Again released on the Dreaming label, the fifth album "Waves" (2004) presents both a percussive and melodic music. In particular, one suite entitled "Marching - Part Two", which is about half an hour long, is to be heard. This is the follow-up to "Yada", a similar project, available on the previous album. As for "When It's Raining...", this is a theme chosen by the France Culture radio for illustrating one of its cultural programs. An urgent discovery for you to do ! The sixth studio opus, "Seven Years Later", introduces six brand new compositions by Christian RICHET. It also includes an interesting bonus, a DVD featuring a whole concert performed March 8th 2009, for more than 70 minutes of top-notch electronic music. Not to be missed !

Percussionniste de formation, le claviériste Christian RICHET est devenu l'un des plus grands spécialistes français de la musique électronique typé Seventies. Et si ce parcours rappelle étrangement celui d'un certain Klaus SCHULZE, son travail s'éloigne considérablement des canons de l'Ecole Allemande (TANGERINE DREAM, ASH RA TEMPEL, POPOL VUH...). Ses oeuvres restent cependant imprégnées de sa forte personnalité, et d'une culture rock indéniable. Tant par ses sons que par ses mélodies aux influences bigarrées, les cinq plages de "Percutone" (1998) entraînent l'auditeur dans un voyage étrange et percutant. Toujours publié par le label Dreaming, le cinquième opus "Waves" (2004) révèle une musique à la fois percussive et mélodique. On y trouve notamment une suite de près d'une demi-heure, intitulée "Marching - Part Two". Celle-ci fait suite à un projet similaire, publié sur le précédent opus "Yada". Quant à "When It's Raining...", il s'agit d'un thème choisi par la radio France Culture pour illustrer son émission "Chasseurs De Sons". Le sixième opus studio, "Seven Years Later", présente six nouvelles compositions signées Christian RICHET. Il inclut également un bonus de choix, un DVD présentant l'intégralité d'un concert donné le 8 mars 2009, soit plus de 70 minutes de musique électronique de grande classe. Incontournable !
