ATOMIC ROOSTER (Royaume-Uni) Masters From The Vaults

Mythical organ-power group of the Seventies, ATOMIC ROOSTER was born on the ashes of THE CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN in 1969. The powerful Hammond organ parts of an extravagant and virtuoso keyboards player, Vincent CRANE, were a perfect complement to singer John DuCANN's (ANDROMEDA) energetic guitar solos. Carl PALMER was their drummer at the beginning but he was replaced in 1970 by Paul HAMMOND. A second line up included Chris FARLOWE (Former member of COLOSSEUM) on vocals and recorded "Made In England" in 1972. This album from the Eighties was the reformation of the Seventies mythic band led by Vincent CRANE, an extravagant and virtuoso keyboardist. Accompanied by complex and furious rhythmic lines, with a nearly metal energy. Some tracks are more ethereal, atmospheric. Also some neo-psychedelic hints ala PORCUPINE TREE... Rare live footage from 1972, "Masters From The Vaults" features vocalist Chris FARLOWE (COLOSSEUM). The DVD has been digitally remastered and now includes full 5.1 Surround Sound audio. ATOMIC ROOSTER still shows a fantastic intensity in its performance.

Organ-power group mythique des Seventies, ATOMIC ROOSTER a été formé sur les cendres de THE CRAZY WORLD OF Arthur BROWN à la fin de 1969. L'orgue Hammond luxuriant de Vincent CRANE, claviériste extravagant et virtuose, répond avec répartie aux soli fiévreux du guitariste et chanteur John DuCANN (ANDROMEDA). Le batteur Carl PALMER en fit partie à ses débuts, remplacé en 1970 par Paul HAMMOND. Une seconde formation incluera l'ancien chanteur de COLOSSEUM Chris FARLOWE pour "Made In England" en 1972, et le dernier opus "Nice N' Greasy" l'année suivante. Fortement recommandé ! Disque des Eighties, "Headline News" consacrait la reformation de ATOMIC ROOSTER, avec le guitariste et chanteur de PINK FLOYD David GILMOUR. Le groupe de Vincent CRANE joue ici un rock énergique et tonique basé essentiellement sur ses parties de claviers et les soli inimitables de guitare. Séquelle d'un concert donné à la télévision belge en 1972, "Masters From The Vaults" est l'occasion de voir le groupe live, en compagnie de l'ancien chanteur de COLOSSEUM Chris FARLOWE. Le DVD a bénéficié d'une remasterisation digitale ainsi que d'une qualité sonore améliorée pour le 5.1 Surround Sound.
