METABOLISME used to be a French band playing Progressive rock, and whose leader was the singer-guitarist Robert DURANTET. First inspired by the sophisticated hard-rock as played by LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE and BLACK SABBATH, the band then discovered the works of URIAH HEEP. With the help of keyboards player Thierry SCADUTO, a symphonic touch added a nice aspect to the music: certainly under the influence of GENESIS, YES or PREMIATA FORNERIA MARCONI, the quartet changed its musical style to play Progressive rock. Released by the Musea label today, "Tempus Fugit" (1977) was the only album by METABOLISME. Due to the French vocals, it has been compared with MONA LISA. This little unknown gem reveals an underground French scene that played high quality music. This means that you absolutely need to discover such a band !

METABOLISME est une formation française de rock Progressif, dirigée par le chanteur-guitariste Robert DURANTET. Inspiré à ses débuts par le hard-rock sophistiqué de LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE et BLACK SABBATH, le groupe trouve finalement son inspiration dans les oeuvres de URIAH HEEP. L'adjonction du claviériste Thierry SCADUTO apporte une touche symphonique de bon aloi: sans doute influencé par GENESIS, YES ou autre PREMIATA FORNERIA MARCONI, le quatuor aborde un virage musical et s'oriente vers le Rock Progressif. Aujourd'hui réédité par le label Musea, "Tempus Fugit" (1977) est l'unique album de METABOLISME. Le chant en Français peut le rapprocher des travaux de MONA LISA, par exemple. Ce petit joyau méconnu est révélateur d'une scène française underground de qualité, bien méconnue de nos jours. Autrement dit, voici une redécouverte absolument indispensable !
