MIDWINTER is the name of a French band playing symphonic heavy-metal, led by the CHAUTY brothers. Strongly inspired by NIGHTWISH, those musicians from Nantes logically employed a female operatic vocalist in order to enhance their music. To produce their first album "Fountain Of Youth" (2004), the band got some help from Pierre-Emmanuel PELISSON, who is well-known for his workings within the French band HEAVENLY. This album includes fine well-chiselled gems, that reveal remarkable general qualities. Other darker influences can be felt, particularly through death-metal oriented voices. With this first opus, MIDWINTER shows a brilliant calling card indeed. Don't miss it !

MIDWINTER est le nom d'une formation française de heavy-metal symphonique, emmenée par les frères CHAUTY. Fortement inspirés par NIGHTWISH, les musiciens nantais se sont fort logiquement adjoint les services d'une vocaliste lyrique, afin de mettre en valeur leur musique. Afin de réaliser leur premier album "Fountain Of Youth" (2004), le groupe s'est attaché les services de Pierre-Emmanuel PELISSON, bien connu pour son travail au sein du groupe français HEAVENLY. L'opus recèle de petites perles finement ciselées, révélant des qualités d'ensemble remarquables. D'autres influences, plus sombres, peuvent être ressenties, grâce notamment à quelques voix orientées death-metal. Avec ce premier essai, MIDWINTER réussit une très belle entrée en matière. A ne pas manquer !
