SATAN JOKERS is probably one of the most emblematic outfits of the French heavy-metal scene. Its story began most classically: two teenagers from the same school once decided to found a rock band. At first, Renaud HANTSON (Drums & vocals) and Laurent BERNAT (Bass) linked up for a duet in which everything put them close to each other, including jazz-rock that made them start out. They soon will turn to heavy-metal as they founded JARRETELLES. This trio, although lasting for a short time, will enable them to make a serious preparation for the next events. Back in december 1981, SATAN JOKERS was born ! The first album of the band, with much expectation after television appearances that gave them some attention, was released in 1983 on the Polygram label. The success was immediate. "Trop Fou Pour Toi" (1984) brought a confirmation. The third album was released in 1985, marking a return to the true and hardline heavy-metal of the beginnings. After the unexpected split-up of SATAN JOKERS, Renaud HANTSON started a solo carrier, alternating solo albums and successful musicals showing the talent that makes his renown. But cats are not dogs, and our man is back today to his first love, firstly with FURIOUS ZOO. Meanwhile, he presents together with the Brennus label the first official live album of SATAN JOKERS: "Best Of Live". This event is important enough for speaking by itself...

SATAN JOKERS est sans doute l'une des formations les plus emblématiques du heavy-metal à la française. Au départ, son histoire est des plus classiques: deux adolescents, qui fréquentent les mêmes cours de lycée, décident un jour de fonder un groupe de rock. Dans un premier temps, Renaud HANTSON (Batterie & chant) et Laurent BERNAT (Basse) s'associent pour un duo que tout rapproche, jusqu'au jazz-rock sur lequel ils font leurs premières armes. Ils s'orienteront rapidement vers le heavy-metal en créant JARRETELLES. Ce trio, qui n'aura qu'un temps, leur permettra de préparer sérieusement la suite. Nous sommes en décembre 1981: SATAN JOKERS est né ! Le premier album du groupe, déjà très attendu suite à des passages télévisuels remarqués, sort dans le courant de l'année 1983 pour le compte du label Polygram. Le disque connaît un succès immédiat. "Trop Fou Pour Toi" (1984) confirme le succès de son prédécesseur. Le troisième album sort en 1985, et marque un retour au heavy-metal pur et dur de la première époque. Après le split inattendu de SATAN JOKERS, Renaud HANTSON entame une carrière en solo, mélangeant albums en solitaire et comédies musicales à succès, avec le talent qu'on lui connaît. Mais comme on ne se refait pas, notre homme revient aujourd'hui à ses premières amours, tout d'abord avec FURIOUS ZOO. Parallèlement à celà, il nous propose, conjointement avec le label Brennus, le premier album officiel en public de SATAN JOKERS: "Best Of Live". Un événement suffisamment important pour qu'il soit parfaitement inutile d'ajouter quoi que ce soit...
