"Eclat De Vers" is the first one recorded by the Marseilles' band of the same name (That would be shortened for the second album). Well recorded and produced, a certain idea of Progressive rock blends with poetic texts, sung in a style between Christian DECAMPS and the famous poet-singers with message. The style of ECLAT DE VERS is developed through an energetic and powerful music, made even greater thanks to the singer's voice and emphatic lyrics (A little too in the foreground though). The vocals develop on beautiful melodies with the excellent guitarist's style. The second album by this band (First one under the new name ECLAT) being sold out (It was already a Musea issue !), the two albums "Eclats De Vers" and "Volume Deux" were compiled on "Volumes Un & Deux". Their music is inspired by ANGE (The wonderful "Circus" is here sung by ANGE's charismatic singer Christian DECAMPS), and includes medieval influences that remind of MINIMUM VITAL. Some very good musicians also add to the overall good impression. With "Volume Trois", the band, once again together, performs a great deal of different instrumental Progressive rock styles, with superb guitar parts in the inspiration of MINIMUM VITAL and TIEMKO. Progressive pop-rock songs in French, ballads in the style of Christian DECAMPS. PINK FLOYD inspired Progressive rock as well as modern jazz-rock... On the live "En Concert - Marseille-Tokyo", ECLAT combines the hot urgency of rock, structural sophistication of Progressive rock, and harmonies coming from jazz-rock. The guitarist is particularly impressive, allying virtuosity and inspiration. This album gives a chance to hear all the bands' classics as well as a previously unreleased track. Benefiting from a superb artwork by Paul WHITEHEAD (GENESIS), this new album "Le Cri De La Terre" (2002) goes even further into musical research. Now playing as a quartet (Fabrice Di MONDO, Alain CHIARAZZO and Thierry MASSE for the oldest, Bruno RAMOUSSE as a replacement for bass player Philippe TROÏSI, now in FUGU), ECLAT concentrates on an exclusively instrumental music with the exception of "La Vie Du Sonora" (With texts by poet Denis CARNEVALI). It can remind of an ambient and refined Progressive jazz-rock that doesn't look down on some KING CRIMSON's style... With four studio albums and twenty years of existence, the band from Marseilles has become one of the most famous representatives of the current French Progressive rock scene. Its performances are also of notice: on stage, the musicians generously play a powerful but sophisticated music, with astounding keyboards and guitar soli, without mentioning the delicate bass sound of newcomer Fred SCHNEIDER and the drum attack courtesy of Marco FABBRI. The audience of the ProgSud festival can tell: a show of ECLAT is a real event, a moment of intensity and magic. Recorded friday, September 14th 2007 in the Maison de Quartier du Roucas, in Vitrolles (Near Marseilles), this live album offers all the best pieces the group once wrote. One may find "Le Cri De La Terre", "Circus" (The only track that is not instrumental here, sung by Jean-Marc NEGRE.), "Mr. Z" or "Toujours Courir" amongst others, with arrangements sometimes different from the originals... Great stuff, great band ! A strong contender for the throne of the French Progressive rock during its rebirth at the beginning of the Nineties, ECLAT became more discreet as time went by. The musicians from Marseilles cast a spell for all the lovers of theatrical and poetic French rock ala ANGE, the so-called southern accent added for good measure. After the departure of singer Denis CARNEVALI, ECLAT turned as an instrumental Progressive jazz-rock outfit, with a sound of its own. And it has to be said that it was duly missed for a long time ! "Live Au Roucas" (Musea, 2010) wasn't surely enough for all the fans out there. As a matter of fact, a full decade was needed, to be able to listen to the fifth opus ! "L'Esprit Du Cercle" (Musea, 2012) starts where "Le Cri De La Terre" ended ten years ago, with more maturity and plenty of slaps dear to new bassist Frédéric SCHNEIDER. Let's note a splendid artwork courtesy of Paul WHITEHEAD (GENESIS), as well as the guest-appearance of Jerry MAROTTA (Peter GABRIEL's drummer) on the title "Sawaka Song". Here's a winner !

"Eclat De Vers" est le premier album du groupe marseillais du même nom (Celui sera raccourci à l'occasion du second opus). Bien produit et enregistré, une certaine idée du rock Progressif se conjugue avec des textes poétiques chantés dans un style renouvelé, entre Christian DECAMPS et les célèbres poètes-chanteurs à textes. L'art de ECLAT DE VERS s'exprime au travers d'une musique énergique, tonique et puissante, magnifiée par la voix du chanteur, au chant emphatique, expressif (Un peu trop mis en avant, au premier plan.). Le chant se développe sur de fort belles mélodies soulignées notamment par un excellent guitariste. Le deuxième album du groupe (Le premier de ECLAT, donc...) étant épuisé (Il s'agissait déjà d'un pressage Musea !), les deux albums "Eclats de Vers" et "Volume Deux" ont été compilés sur "Volumes Un & Deux". Leur musique s'inspire de ANGE (Le sublime "Circus" figure ici dans sa version interprétée par son charismatique chanteur Christian DECAMPS.) et possède des influences médiévales qui le rapprochent de MINIMUM VITAL. Des instrumentistes de qualité achèvent de donner à ces productions un intérêt majeur. Avec "Volume Trois", le groupe reformé s'adonne à une grande diversité de styles: rock Progressif instrumental avec de superbes parties de guitare, dans la droite ligne de MINIMUM VITAL ou TIEMKO, chansons pop-rock Progressives en Français, ballades à la Christian DECAMPS, rock Progressif à la PINK FLOYD, et jazz-rock actuel... Sur le live "En Concert, Marseille-Tokyo", ECLAT combine l'urgence fiévreuse du rock, la sophistication structurelle du rock Progressif et des harmonies venues du jazz-rock. Le guitariste y est particulièrement éblouissant, alliant virtuosité et inspiration. Ce disque permet d'entendre les classiques du groupe et un inédit. Bénéficiant d'une sublime pochette de Paul WHITEHEAD (GENESIS), le nouvel album "Le Cri De La Terre" (2002) pousse encore plus loin la recherche musicale. Désormais constitué en quatuor (Fabrice Di MONDO, Alain CHIARAZZO et Thierry MASSE pour les anciens, Bruno RAMOUSSE remplaçant le bassiste Philippe TROÏSI, désormais impliqué dans FUGU.), ECLAT se concentre sur une musique exclusivement instrumentale, à l'exception de "La Vie Du Sonora" (Bénéficiant de textes du poète Denis CARNEVALI...). Celle-ci peut s'apparenter à un jazz-rock Progressif atmosphérique et raffiné, qui ne dédaigne pas certaines incursions du côté de KING CRIMSON. Avec quatre albums studio au compteur et une vingtaine d'années d'existence, le groupe marseillais ECLAT est devenu un des plus fameux de la galaxie du rock Progressif français. Ses concerts ne sont pas moins connus: sur scène, les musiciens déploient de la générosité à l'état brut, alliant comme personne sophistication et puissance, déroulant des soli étourdissants de guitare et de claviers, sans oublier le son de basse enveloppant du nouvel arrivant Fred SCHNEIDER et les roulements de batterie de Marco FABBRI. Les publics successifs du ProgSud peuvent en témoigner: un show de ECLAT est un pur moment d'intensité et de magie. Enregistré le vendredi 14 septembre 2007 à la Maison de Quartier du Roucas, à Vitrolles (Bouches-Du-Rhône), cet album regroupe les plus brillantes compositions du groupe. On y retrouve ainsi "Le Cri De La Terre", "Circus" (Seul titre brisant ici l'hégémonie du tout-instrumental, chanté par Jean-Marc NEGRE.), "Mr. Z" ou "Toujours Courir" et d'autres, avec des arrangements parfois différents des originaux. Superbe ! Il aura au final fallu attendre une décennie entière pour écouter le cinquième opus, "L'Esprit Du Cercle" (Musea, 2012). Verdict ? La marque de fabrique ECLAT est bien là, bonifiée avec le temps et enrichie des slaps de basse du nouveau bassiste. Remarquons une splendide illustration de Paul WHITEHEAD (GENESIS), ainsi que la participation exceptionnelle de Jerry MAROTTA (Batteur de Peter GABRIEL) sur le titre "Sawaka Song". Retour gagnant !
